This study addresses the implementation of practical laboratory classes in the Unities of General and Inorganic Chemistry at ISCED Benguela and aims to analyze the role of these activities in the development of socio-professional skills by students of the Degree of Geography Teaching. The study followed a mixed research approach and for its implementation, participant observation and a Google Forms questionnaire were applied to a group of 53 participants selected by the intentional “snowball” sampling technique, among the 118 students who studied General and Inorganic Chemistry in the academic years of 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. The main results show that the practical experiences carried out by students have a significant impact on the development of skills and attitudes that directly influence their future careers. This impact is the result of mastering laboratory procedures, specifically skills in handling instruments and techniques and, on the other hand, of collaborative experiences in the laboratory pursuit which helps to develop communication, organization and conflict resolution skills, as these aptitudes are fundamental in professional environments. Likewise, the development of a positive attitude towards chemistry was observed, as the experience aroused curiosity and appreciation for science, encouraging students in scientific research, consolidating learning and promoting interest in science and education.
