Interculturality: the case of linguistic interference in Cuban teachers on mission in the Republic of Angola

Abstract

The present investigation approaches the linguistic interference in the intercultural meeting of Cuban professors in Angola Republic. It has as objective to offer information about the influence of the Spanish language in Cubans for the Portuguese language practice in a new cultural context that they recognize and they respect at the time to interact with it.  The methods that allowed to evaluate results and to reach conclusions were from the empirical level, the observation and interviews. From theoretical level the analysis - synthesis and starting from the contrastive linguistics the Analysis of Errors. The personal experiences of Cubans described in interviews that were carried out, as well as that of the authors are represented in this article.  To reach the linguistic goals in the Portuguese language as the Cuban professors' second language in Angola Republic, it is necessary to surpass obstacles that it imposes the new, that it means. Of one side, the necessity to understand, to memorize new words, to pronounce them that are comprehensible for the native ones, on the other hand, the cultural aspects that intervene in the decoding of the information to transmit. The learning of the second language, can be quicker if the learner takes in consideration the interculturality like tool for the knowledge of the cultural aspects that influence in communication according to the context where it is developed. This is a consultation material for the professors that will be in similar situations that also keeps memoirs of those that were already and it contains interesting aspects for the Cubans to learn Portuguese language.
